At Beaver Green we use our PE and sports funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered throughout the school. We ensure that we provide targeted activities or support to involve and encourage all children to be active. We encourage active play during break times and lunchtimes. We will continue to offer a range of after school activities which promote physical activity (our after school clubs are currently not running in light of safety concerns regarding Coronavirus).
We are committed to raising attainment in primary school swimming to meet requirements of the national curriculum before the end of key stage 2. Every child should leave primary school able to swim at least 25m and be able to swim using a variety of strokes effectively. Due to the current climate, we have been unable to resume swimming lessons for our KS2 children. At this time we are unable to publish any statistics about the skills that the children have learnt during previous swimming lessons. The current Year 6 cohort have not received swimming lessons at school since they were in Year 3. Once we are able to resume swimming lessons we will be able to assess the children and record the skills they have acquired.
