PSHE/RSE

Safeguarding our children is of paramount importance to us at Beaver Green Primary School. We also believe it is essential that children are provided with age-appropriate information to assist them in making sensible choices and developing respect for themselves and others as they progress through the school as this helps them to safeguard themselves.

Relationships and sex education is learning about the emotional, social and physical aspects of growing up, relationships, sex and human sexuality.

As a school we use a scheme of work called Jigsaw (https://www.jigsawpshe.com/) which is a comprehensive programme of PSHE (including RSE) which provides accurate information about the body, puberty and reproduction. It also gives children and young people essential skills for building positive, enjoyable, respectful and non-exploitative relationships and staying safe both on and offline.

During the school year we will hold meetings with parents so that there is a clarity about what your children will be learning and we can answer any questions that you may have.  This allows home and school to work together to support our children.

If you have any questions about RSE please contact your class teacher in the first instance, or Mrs Bourne, Mrs Hayward or Mrs Wood (Assistant Headteachers) if you'd like further information.
