The term Pupil Premium describes the funding that is provided for children that have registered for and are in receipt of Free School Meals, or have received them over the previous six years. It also includes Looked After Children, these are children who are in local authority care.
The Pupil Premium grant was first awarded to schools in 2011 and since then it has been used at Beaver Green to raise attainment, improve progress, decrease the gaps in attainment and progress. It is also used to support the welfare and mental health of children. Overtime we have seen a steady improvement in our reportable data (SATs results) and the gaps are closing, we now use the Pupil Premium Grant to sustain the support we have in place, and will this year be looking to focus on any gaps in knowledge due to the extended period of reduced numbers of children on site (due to Coronavirus & associated lockdown).
