Year Groups

23/05/22 RE day - what does it mean to be a Christian in Britain today?

For their RE day Year 3 explored the theme of 'What does it mean to be a Christian in Britain today?".

Children in Year 3 considered a number of very important questions throughout the day.  Questions such as "Where do we belong?", "What does it mean to belong to a faith community?" and "What is good and what is challenging about being a teenage Buddhist, Sikh or Muslim in Britain today?".

The children demonstrated very good listening skills as they heard the views of their classmates and were able to articulate some interesting points of view themselves.

Our children also learnt about significant symbols that can be found within Christian homes and communities around the World and the meanings behind some of these. They saw images of stained-glass windows in cathedrals and churches which continue to inspire people to create their own artwork.
